1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Willow Running Club mobile application ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App. We have designed the App to collect as little information as possible. Your privacy is important to us.
2. Information We Collect
The App stores the following information only on your device using your device's local storage:
- Display name: the name you choose to appear on the in-app leaderboard.
- Activity log: the dates and distances (in miles) of runs you log.
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of this information. It never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself (for example, by uninstalling and reinstalling the App, which will clear the data).
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not request any device permissions.
- The App does not connect to the internet.
3. How We Use Information
The display name and activity data you enter are used solely to:
- Display your running history within the App.
- Compute your personal totals (number of activities, total miles).
- Show your name on the in-app leaderboard alongside sample placeholder entries.
Because the data stays on your device, we cannot view it, share it, or sell it. We do not have it.
4. Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party services, software development kits (SDKs), or APIs that collect data about you.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can:
- Delete individual activities from within the App using the trash icon.
- Uninstall the App to clear all stored data.
- Clear the App's storage from your device's system settings.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, no special children's data is involved.
7. Security
Data is stored locally on your device using your device's standard application storage. Security of that data depends on the security of your device. We recommend protecting your device with a screen lock.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's functionality changes (for example, if a future version of the App adds online features such as a shared leaderboard). When that happens, we will update the Effective Date above and post the revised policy at the same URL. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
